In the News
The article on Scott has been and gone in the Kincardine News. If anyone has some free time and would like to transcribe the article for the website, please feel free to do so! Huge thanks to Myke for entering the contests and bringing home the gold for Scott. (We hope we’ll get to see more of you this summer, both in and out of the shop).
Tim Kern (Tribulation Tattoo, NYC) joined us for a week of leisure and tattoos. He started a great piece on Mel the Apprentice and stuck another giant may fly on the other side of Scott’s neck. Pictures of that will come once it’s healed. Looks great of course. Tim comes to visit us quite regularly when we don’t have any snow, so if you are interested in getting work from him while he is here in Kincardine you can him (ymonster@mac.com).
If you are an experienced custom tattoo artist and are looking for a little change of scenery do consider a guest spot at Sugar Shack during what is bound to be another very busy summer. Feel free to email us and please have a portfolio available online.

Spring has sprung
The Kincardine News was recently over at Sugar Shack, talking to Scott about his tattoo competition wins, so keep your eyes on the local rag for the story.
Walk in Fridays with Scott are soon approaching. On those special Fridays Scott will be arriving at the shop at 9am, ready to roll. It’s first come, first serve, but there is a daily list so you don’t have to wait around all day. If you’re thinking about coming in for one of these days, it’s never too early to get prepared. Think about what it is that you want tattooed on you, and how you can best articulate that to Scott. Print off images from the internet, or clip out pictures from magazines if that helps.
A tip though – if you are looking to get a tattoo of a Red Speckled Bervie Hamster, don’t Google “tattoo of Red Speckled Bervie Hamster”. Google “hamster” and “Red Speckled Bervie Hamster”, but omit the “tattoo” part. Your results will be broader and the reference will be better for Scott to work with.
All on the Duncan family farm is going very well. The laying hens we share with Grandparents Pete & Patti have come home after a winter vacation in a friends barn. Bob of course cannot get enough. The meat hens arrive May 13 as day old chicks and tomorrow some friends and family are coming over to help build a proper coop for those guys to sleep in once they get their feathers on.

Back from the Ol’ US of A
In recent news, Myke Zinn’s leg won 1st place for large colour tattoo at the Detroit Convention. Thank you Myke, for showing off your thigh in the name of Sugar Shack all over the globe.
The Duncan family just returned from a brief but enjoyable family vacation to Canandaigua, NY. Scott tattooed on his vacation of course, but after all, he does have a job he loves. Seth got a spacey half sleeve started and Scott got to tattoo beside Peg at Lady Luck Tattoo. Great company all around.
The snow is starting to melt here and we’ve got our seedlings started. Spring is on it’s way, HOORAY!

Welcome to the NEW SITE
Hey all! Thought it was time to give our website a new look. We’ll be updating tattoos, art and news far more regularly so do check back.
The shop is quite busy at the moment, Scott & Jarkko are tattooing away and Mel (aka Choona Mel the apprentice) will be building her 1st tattoo machine tonight. Scott isn’t currently accepting any new appointments, but has made sure to keep all Fridays open this summer for walk-ins.
Scott has a tattoo consultation for himself on Monday – with tattoo genius and legend, Bill Baker (who is currently accepting appointments in Toronto!) Very exciting stuff.
Scott has been dreaming of fly fishing, his wife Ashley is fantasizing about gardening and his son Bob is envisioning what life will be like when baby #2 arrives in June. Our friend Michelle recently gave Bob his first tattoo machine (sold at toy stores!) and he’s been busy tattooing himself and chasing the dog while yelling “Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!”
